Q+A Before Booking Monnette Co As Your Wedding Photographer

If you are reading this blog, you might already be considering me as your wedding photographer. So let me first say thank you for considering me and looking into my work.

I absolutely love what I do. Being a photographer and being able to document peoples milestones and memories is a huge deal and I do not take this job lightly.

  1. How long have you been a photographer?

Although I don’t think that the time I have done this truly matters, I have been photographing weddings since I was in high school. My first wedding was shortly after I bought my first DSLR camera in 2010. After that first wedding I started telling people I was a wedding photographer and photographed a few weddings a year until I became more consistent with over a dozen weddings a year beginning in 2017. It wasn’t until I got married myself that I saw weddings in a whole new light and my passion grew.

  2. What is your backup system?

I love what I do and care a lot about backing up your memories as well as making sure you have someone present for your wedding day. The second photographer I bring with me to weddings is another wedding industry professional. If a worse case scenario happened to me, my second photographer would take my place and continue working the day to make sure everything is documented for you. I work with like minded people that I trust would love you and care for you just as I would and have the skills to properly document your day. I would still edit and deliver the images to you in this situation.

Along with have a person as a backup plan to me personally, I also backup your images. My camera has 2 memory card slots to dual record each image that I take. On wedding days I also wear a backup camera on me so that I am ready to go at all times. After your wedding day, when I get home I immediately backup your images onto multiple hard drives and when the images are sent to you they are stored on a cloud.

  3. What is your photography approach?

My number one goal is to document your day in a true and authentic way. This means I eb and flow as a fly on the wall and directing when needed. Being true to your day by embracing the weather and lighting and natural moments that may happen and documenting it. With capturing your day also comes my editing process. I do edit all the images you’ll receive from me and I edit with keeping your colors that you picked in mind. My editing style goal is to be true to life with color while leaning into some contrast.

  4. Do you have insurance?

Yes I do! If your venue needs a copy of it before your wedding day, just let me know!

  5. What is your personality like?

What a fun question! I can be more of a quiet person but can definitely take charge when needed. I love listening and helping (if you have taken the enneagram test - I am a 3 wing 2, strong 2 being a helper) I love going with the flow but also love lists. I might ask you a bunch of times if you are happy or if there is anything I can do to help, because I truly deeply care about my people.
