Lacie + Jason St Joseph Wedding

Lacie and Jason created a day that was perfect for them. Every detail meant something and wasn’t just traditions for the sake of traditions. They picked St Joseph to get married because it was and is a special location for them and their relationship. Lacie is a makeup artist and took the time to do her future daughter in laws makeup for their day. Their dog Lilly was their flower girl and they had one of their best friends marry them. Instead of cutting cake, they did a bourbon pour! Bourbon dates are a regular thing for them, and it was beautiful for them to trade a tradition for that moment. After some time at the reception Lacie and Jason took some time to be alone (with their photographers - me! tagging along to document some sweet moments). While their wedding was full of high energy and good people, taking this time for just the two of them was so special. It was a beautiful evening with calm waters, it allowed them to truly soak it all in, this was their wedding day.

Lacie posted a bunch of her favorite pictures on facebook with some commentary, the below texts are Lacies words recapping her day and these moments.

The morning of the wedding was so much fun. Aside from realizing I was totally in over my head with some last minute details, all my girls had me laughing all morning. The boys went golfing and had it way too easy getting ready!

I wanted to do a first look with my dad, and my (at the time) future father in law. They both had refused to see my dress, and I was so glad I took those moments to spend with each of them. They both cried, and I cried!

We went back and forth on a doing a first look for a long time. We decided it worked best for our timeline because we wanted to spend as much time as we can at the party we spent so long planning.

These pictures are by far my favorite of the bunch. The location was perfect, the moment was perfect, and our amazing photographers and videographers literally had us cracking up the whole time.

*Fun moments - Shelby drove me to the location, and I had a roadie on the way. I was so incredibly nervous. I also spent half of the time there picking out sticks from my dress!!! LOL

Our ceremony was perfect. The weather was amazing, the set up was amazing. Lisa was our officiant and it was the most incredible thing I have ever heard. We wrote our own vows, and I am still shocked I didn't cry my eyes out.

We had a wine box ceremony - which was a personalized box, and inside was an amazing bottle of wine we still had not opened from our first trip together, (Traverse City) and a letter we each wrote to each other the morning of the wedding. The bottle is to be opened in 5 years, and while we drink it, we read the letters! (Either 5 years, or an argument where you question your marriage...which we know is not an option with us!)

Most importantly, Lilly was our flower girl. I cannot express how thankful I am she was able to be a part of the day, and even more grateful there were so many perfect pictures that were captured! Her leash said "I do too". I miss her so so much!

Fun moment - My dad swore he was fine, and halfway down the aisle he started crying, and I start laughing at him LOL!

Yes, we all chugged a white claw for our entrance, and it was perfect!!

We decided against a cake cutting because Jason is allergic to dairy, and well, we both would rather have bourbon! So, the bourbon pour was born. It was so us, and we loved it. The bottle came from a good friend who is also a fellow bourbon lover and we have decided to only get the bottle out for a drink on our anniversary!

This was so fun, and the best part was after Jason & his mom, and me and Mick, we surprised my mom and Jason's dad in an "in-law" dance. They were so surprised, and half way through we opened the danced floor. It was such a great moment!
