Caroline & Adam’s Intimate Wedding at Hotel Walloon
Caroline and Adam welcomed their friends and family to an intimate wedding weekend experience at Hotel Walloon, beginning with a rehearsal dinner set on the lawn, followed by a private dinner in the Varnish Room. Being able to gather in the same space where they would be married the next day, made the entire experience feel even more personal.
During the evening, Caroline’s father surprised Adam with a Rolex watch as a wedding gift, a moment that was both meaningful and unexpected. After dinner, Caroline and Adam stepped out by the water for a quiet stroll at golden hour, taking in the energy of the weekend before the celebrations officially began.
On the wedding day, both Caroline and Adam got ready at the venue surrounded by their closest friends and family. The morning carried a mix of joy and anticipation, with the girls getting ready together while the guys brought a lighthearted energy to the start of the day. Caroline shared a special moment with her mom as she helped her into her dress, followed by a thoughtful gift. She gave her mom a custom purse made from her mother’s wedding dress, allowing them both to carry a piece of that history throughout the day.
Before the ceremony, Caroline made her way downstairs to see her dad for the first time, a moment filled with emotion, hugs, and happy tears.
The ceremony took place by the water, where guests were invited to participate in a ring warming, passing the rings between them to offer prayers and well wishes for the couple. Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour on the patio, enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres and time together before dinner.
Dinner was held both indoors and out on the patio, creating a natural flow throughout the space. The evening began with toasts from Caroline’s father, followed by a thank you from the couple and a prayer from Caroline’s grandfather. As guests found their seats, they were greeted with handwritten notes from Caroline and Adam, a detail they had spent hours preparing to make each guest feel personally seen and appreciated.
Their first dance took place on the patio, surrounded by friends and family, setting the tone for the rest of the evening as the dance floor stayed full.
To close out the night, the celebration shifted into a more relaxed setting with a bar social indoors. With quieter music and late-night snacks, Caroline and Adam spent time sitting with their guests, sharing conversations, saying their goodbyes, and ending the night with one final dance together.
As a Detroit wedding photographer, it was an honor to document Caroline and Adam’s intimate wedding weekend at Hotel Walloon, a celebration that felt intentional, personal, and centered around the people who mattered most.
